The Radio Archives staff definitely shows a commitment by the Company to provide the best in restoration techniques. Even the 'creaking door' sound is amazingly clear. Strange steps out the W 12th St side of this building, looking East on 12th towards Greenwich Ave. However, the filming location for the Sanctum was done at 319 West 4th Street, on the 12th Street side of the building. The Radio Archives staff have restored these vintage radios shows to their original clarity of sound and tonal quality. The New York Sanctum is historically located at 177A Bleecker St, New York, as indicated by the placard on the exterior. In many ways these stories are some of the most gruesome in this genre, yet the comic relief during the commercials, worked into the stories actually enhances the quality of each episode. Generally commercials are simply bothersome, but the Lipton Tea commercials for Lipton Tea with their regular talk of its' 'Brisk' flavor definitely helps to overcome what could easily have been stories that are rather frightening.
